Our brand values
There are four values at the core of Martin Currie's business. These are: Independent, international, respected and vibrant. But what do they mean in practice?
Independent
We are a private company, owned and managed by directors and staff. Independence in action means that while others were cutting back during the downturn, we continued investing in the business. It also means that we are able to attract staff of the highest calibre. And that we are free to adopt an innovative approach in response to our clients' wishes.

International
We have a truly global outlook. Every day, we seek out the best investment opportunities from around the world. But being international means much more. It describes our global client base. We manage 25% of our assets for investors in North America and have clients in the UK, Europe, Africa and Australasia. Our international outlook is also reflected in our multi-cultural team embracing some 12 nationalities. Around one quarter of our investment managers are non-UK nationals.
Respected
We have been investing since 1881. We have built a reputation for integrity, quality and exceptional client service. Although we are proud of our history, we recognise that our future reputation depends on our commitment to developing innovative investment solutions for our clients. It also means delivering on our promises for performance and client service.

Vibrant
We have a vibrant, entrepreneurial culture which embraces change. This is reflected in our commitment to high alpha products, our flourishing hedge funds business and the development of our activities in China.
