John Long will join Martin Currie as sales manager to further develop the company's intermediary business in London. He will join on
2 August 2010 and report to Alan Burnett, Martin Currie's head of UK intermediary sales.
John has nine years' experience in the investment industry. He joins Martin Currie from Stenham Group, where he was head of UK intermediary sales and where his clients included funds of funds, private banks, family offices, private-client investment managers and IFAs. Earlier, John worked at Investec Asset Management for six years, latterly as head of family offices.
As Martin Currie's client base continues to grow, this new appointment deepens the company's resources and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to clients and intermediaries. Martin Currie has been expanding its sales and client-support team over the past year. Keith Skinner and Jeff Lombardi have recently joined the New York office to support institutional clients across North America, while James Elks has joined the UK team as institutional and consultant relations manager. In the last year, Martin Currie has also announced the opening of offices in Zurich, Singapore and Melbourne, to provide local service to its clients as the business grows.
