Martin Currie further expands its global emerging markets offering with the appointment of four team members
Martin Currie Investment Management Limited (Martin Currie) announces major expansion of its global emerging markets team with four appointments

Following the recent additions of Scottish Widows Investment Partners (SWIP's) Kim Catechis and Alastair Reynolds to lead its emerging markets team, Martin Currie is delighted to announce that Andrew Ness, Jeff Casson, Divya Mathur and Mohammed Zaidi will also join the team from SWIP.

These additions complete Martin Currie's recruitment drive to establish a leading global emerging markets team inside Martin Currie. This team of six have worked together for many years, managing over £2.2 billion for a range of institutional and wealth management clients. Collectively, they have over 91 years' emerging market experience.

Andrew Ness joins from SWIP where he is investment director on the Global Emerging Markets equity desk. As portfolio manager, Andrew manages the Gem Sustainability portfolios. As sector analyst, he is responsible for stocks across the GEMs financial sector.

Jeff Casson joins from SWIP where he is investment director on the Global Emerging Markets desk. As portfolio manager, Jeff is lead manager of Latin American strategy and backs up Alastair Reynolds in the management of the GEM Smaller Companies strategy. As sector analyst, he is responsible for stocks within the telecom and the consumer sectors.

Divya Mathur joins from SWIP where he is investment director of the Global Emerging Markets desk. As portfolio manager, he is lead manager of the GEM core mandates. As sector analyst, he is responsible for stocks across the GEM energy sector.

Mohammed Zaidi joins from SWIP where he is investment director on the Global Emerging Markets desk. As portfolio manager, he is lead manager of the GEM Shariah mandates and co-manages the balanced GEM mandates. As sector analyst, he is responsible for stocks across the industrials and materials sectors.
