Ashton is a Portfolio Manager at Martin Currie Australia (MCA) and leads the Real Asset team, with research responsibilities for listed property and infrastructure.
Ashton joined MCA’s predecessor firm in August 1998 as a Research Analyst and has been the lead Portfolio Manager for MCA’s Property Securities and Real Income strategies since December 2005, and a co-Portfolio Manager for Global Real Income strategy since July 2020.
As the building blocks of society, Ashton has a passion for Real Assets and has built an in-depth knowledge of the listed property and infrastructure sectors from many years of coverage.
Ashton previously worked for Prudential Portfolio Managers in London and National Australia Asset Management in Melbourne
Ashton has a Bachelor of Economics (honours) from Monash University, is a CFA® charterholder, a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is CPA certified.
On the leisure side, Ash enjoys a broad spectrum of travel, but has a passion for camping, safaris and destinations with an adventure angle. A keen sportsman, Ash keeps fit by dabbling in tennis, skiing, rowing, cycling, the odd triathlon and golf.
