Tim Baker, CFA

Tim is an Associate Investment Analyst in our Global Long-Term Unconstrained team and believes that quality underpins a well-rounded investment philosophy. He is responsible for technology equity research across the team’s portfolios.

Tim has been in the finance industry since 2011 and has thrived in delivering market and strategy insights in various distribution and institutional portfolio manager roles, covering multi-billion-pound equity franchises. After joining Legg Mason Global Asset Management in 2017, Tim transitioned to Franklin Templeton when they acquired the business in 2020 and latterly moved to Martin Currie in 2022.

Tim holds a BSC (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Portsmouth, is a CFA charterholder and a holder of the CFA UK Certificate in ESG Investing, Tim’s interest in business, strategy, and innovation prompted enrolment in the Liverpool University MBA programme, which he is studying at present and is due to graduate in 2025.

Tim has completed multiple marathons and has now branched into the world of triathlon, crowned an Ironman for the first time in 2023. When he finds the time, Tim enjoys long strolls around the Essex countryside with his partner and further afield when they get the chance, both enjoying active breaks encompassing all things hiking and cycling.
